Architectural Veneers
Architectural grade veneers are premium quality veneers. In terms of aesthetics and durability, architectural grade veneers really make the grade: AA grade, that is. We use our premium architectural grade veneers for many interior applications, such as wall panels, statement walls, fixtures, furnishings, and ceilings. They are as versatile as they are beautiful.
Why Use Veneer?
Wood veneer is an excellent alternative to hardwood lumber. Aesthetically superior and structurally sound, veneer is an increasingly popular option for finishing interiors. The visually appealing wood grain patterns and lush natural colors combine to create a uniquely versatile finish for any space. At Jacaranda, we combine vibrant hardwoods with a variety of backings to create a veneer that is flexible, durable, and stunning.
Unlike hardwood, which can warp and discolor when exposed to humidity or sunlight, our veneer products retain their appearance year after year. Hardwood lumber can also be expensive, making it an impractical choice for many common applications. Wood for veneer, on the other hand, is sliced thin, allowing us to maximize the amount of veneer we get from each log. It’s then bonded to a secure backing, which prevents warping, cracking, and other common issues. Our veneer can then be applied to a variety of substrates, including metal panels, drywall, GRG, MDF, acoustic panels, magnesium boards, calcium silicon boards, plastic, and more. The flexible backings mean that you can even apply our veneer to curved walls, angles, and corners without distortion or cracking.
Wood veneer is, simply put, the practical alternative to hardwood lumber, allowing you to save money, save time, and preserve the aesthetics of your space.
Choosing Veneers
At Jacaranda, our wood veneer is AA grade and is available in more than 100 species and countless dyes, stains, and finishes. Each of our runs uses sequencing so that you can easily match your veneer sheets to create exactly the look you want. This means that you can incorporate decorative elements featuring repetitions, matching, and more for smooth, visually appealing transitions.
Once you’ve chosen your veneer style and color and determined your preferred matching pattern, you’ll be ready to install your new wood veneer. Unlike hardwood lumber panels or cheap plywood paneling, our veneer is installed much like vinyl wallpaper. You will need to let the veneer rest briefly and adjust to the temperature and humidity levels of the installation area. You will need to prime the walls and use an appropriate glue. The last step is applying the veneer using your chosen sequenced pattern.
Caring for your new veneer walls is simple: Simply dust them periodically to wipe away any fingermarks or smudges. You may need to vacuum about twice a year to remove dust and debris from the seams.
