SanFoot in Hospitality Interiors

A hotel doesn’t get a second chance to make a first impression. The lobby, the corridor, and the public areas shape how a property is perceived from the first minute someone walks in. Those same surfaces have to handle continuous traffic, meet acoustic requirements, and hold up over a long service life.

SanFoot natural wood veneer has been specified across hotels and residential towers by leading design firms, in projects where the veneer had to deliver both beauty and durability at once.

A Specific Aesthetic, Held Consistently

At The Londoner Hotel in Leicester Square, London, Yabu Pushelberg specified SanFoot White Oak Flat Cut, custom stained, direct applied and then pressed to millwork. The material was selected for a specific design aesthetic, consistency, and the flexibility to work across different substrates and applications within the same property.

Custom stain is often what makes that kind of aesthetic achievable. A design team can hold a specific color target across the installation while the natural grain still reads through, which keeps the character of the wood intact without leaving the final color to variation between flitches.

Design and Acoustics in One Assembly

At Le Meridien Hotel in Midtown New York, VLDG and Vennie Lau specified SanFoot White Ash Flat Cut, stained and whitewashed, applied to an acoustical panel system with digital print. The project combined custom veneer with acoustical performance in the same panel system, so both requirements were met in a single assembly rather than addressed separately.

The digital print added a distinguishing detail that gave the small space its own identity.

Scale and Geometry in a Residential Tower

Echo Condominium in Aventura, Florida covers 43,000 square feet across a two-tower development with 190 residences. The lobbies include curved walls and columns finished in SanFoot sheets up to 13 feet high, with a joint placed at 9 feet where the height required it.

SanFoot’s flexibility and thin profile make that kind of installation possible, allowing the sheets to conform to the curved surfaces without a separate fabrication step. Work that would otherwise require custom millwork can instead be handled as a wallcovering installation.

Specifying SanFoot for a Hospitality Project

SanFoot arrives from our factory prefinished with a urethane sealer and finish, so the surface is durable and cleanable under continuous guest traffic. It carries a Class A fire rating under ASTM E84-24 when installed over drywall, which supports the code requirements of hotel corridors and public areas. An Elite finish is also available for added durability and cleanability in high traffic areas. Species, custom stain, acoustical backing, and digital print can be combined to suit what a particular space needs.
