Staining Wood: Everything You Need to Know

Stains

Wood stain is one of the most popular ways to change the look of wood in your home or business. Staining can deepen the natural color of the wood or add pigment to change the wood. It can also enhance and improve the wood while protecting it.

Staining Wood: Everything You Need to Know

The naturally occurring patterns on wood grain add visual interest and appeal to real wood products. Painting will cover the grain, but stain allows the natural beauty of real wood to shine through. At Jacaranda, we offer numerous stains as well as custom stains to add just a hint of color or bring the wood grain to life with a stunning “pop” of color.

Stain isn’t just about aesthetics, however. Wood stains can also protect your wood and help maintain its structure. Stains seal the wood’s pores, which helps stop UV damage before it starts while reducing the risk of moisture and insect-related damage.

Because our wood veneer is made using real wood, it accepts stains beautifully and can be finished exactly the way you want.

Finishing Wood Veneer

Along with the stain, we also use two coats of polyurethane to finish our veneer wallcoverings. Polyurethane dries quickly to a durable finish, resisting everything from watermarks to abrasions and impacts. Our standard finish has a 20% sheen, but as with our stains, we also offer custom sheens. You can choose from a sleek matte finish to a stunning high-gloss finish.

At Jacaranda, we make it easy for you to bring your vision to life with an extensive palette of stains in our quick-ship stain program as well as limitless custom options to match your precise requirements. Our SanFoot, SanPly, and TransTec wood veneers are all available in more than 100 species and have a variety of cuts and finishes. We use our patented technique to get three times as much wood from each log, and we offer exotic and recon species, each of which can be stained to your specifications, to add beauty, luxury, and personality to your space.

Our veneer can be applied to walls, ceilings, columns, curved surfaces, and more. We even offer translucent veneers, which can be used for backlighting or other exciting applications. Your imagination is the limit, and we can help you bring your visions to life. Give us a call today to learn more about your options or for a consultation with our design team.
